Jesus

Some people believe that the signs of The Return are beginning to appear, I know in the bible it says something about every eye shall see and every ear shall hear so I think we will know when the time comes. But the bible also talks about being prepared for the Return, so my question is, how are we supposed to prepare? What are we expected to do?

As a Christian, you should live ready to die. In other words, have few regrets and a short list of things you need to repent of. Don't distance yourself from Him. Don't let yourself drift away.

Like Sylvia said, we are each one heartbeat away from meeting Jesus right now. I welcome His return, but I try and live ready to die as well. All of that said, we may be the generation that gets to see His return. Many of the signs that people are waiting on have already came to pass.

I suppose this is where I differ from that path or have yet to reach that point. But a good question would be "Why would a sentient life form seek its own end? Wouldn't it seek to preserve itself?" that's kinda where I'm at at the moment.

I don't believe you need to do anything that you should not already be doing to be prepared. When you look at the entirety of history, it is far more likely that your life will end before The Return. If you have accepted Jesus as your savior, if you live for Him as best you can, building your relationship as you move forward in life, you are doing great :)!

That's kinda the thing, you know, there are so many uncertainties in this life. It's like building on a foundation of sand instead of rock.

I don't know if that's the case when you're just talking about the end times. That is merely an event that will happen in the future at some time. For most of us, it will not apply ;). Building your foundation on that event is probably not necessary :)

Actually, I was referring to a foundation in general terms, like establishing a foundation now. There are many uncertainties, many questions and things we can't be sure of. It's hard to deal with these things because what if there's some piece of the puzz...  more

Well, perhaps look at it as the beginning of building a foundation. If all you have is a couple of bricks, it is indeed not that much to go on, but keep going forward and you will eventually have a house :)
