You Have to Want it.

We hear the phrase "You have to want it" all the time about a lot of different things, but what does it even mean? Does it mean you need the desire to have something? What if your desire is for a thing not easily obtainable through normal(human) means(such as establishing a relationship with Jesus, obtaining the Holy Spirit, things like that)? How would you fulfill your desire to become closer to God? Or to discover what God's plan for your life is and act in accordance to that plan?

by Dion Todd about March 11

To me it simply means wanting "A" more than "B". So if you wanted to hear God speak to you, would you :

    1: Watch some reality TV.

2: Pray for a while and listen.

If you really wanted God to speak then you would hopefully choose number 2, because "You want that more" than other things.

Also, all the things that you mentioned are obtainable to all of God's children. Jeremiah 29:13 promises us that "You will seek Me and FIND Me when you search for Me with all of your heart."
