The Ultimate Price

  • There they crucified him, and with him two others, one on either side, and Jesus between them. Pilate also wrote an inscription and put it on the cross. It read, Jesus of Nazareth, the King of the Jews. John 19:1719 ESV

We read these familiar words and often fail to see the depth of them. Jesus was falsely accused, condemned, beaten, stripped naked, and nailed to a cross where He was left to slowly die and He was entirely in the will of God. It began thousands of years before in Genesis 3 when Adam and Eve disobeyed the one command that God had given them. All of mankind had fallen away, now God made a way for them to come back.

The immeasurable Love of God is revealed in the giving of His own son to buy us back from our slave master and from the curse of the law. We were bought with a price: God took His own innocent Child and offered Him as a sacrifice for us.

Let no one make you feel unworthy today. God Himself has chosen you and paid the ultimate price for you to be free. It is not because you deserve it, or earned it, nor will you ever. It is because He loves you. It is not because we are good, it is because He is. Let no one steal that truth from you.
