Hi Bella. I wish I could be more helpful, but discussing the rapture in the church is like holding a bag of cats. None of them really know how they are getting out of the bag, but they are all convinced they know the way and will fight each other to the death over it. Here is the best I could come up with.

The short answer the Lord told me 35 years ago was this: "Why does it matter?"

Would we live life differently if we knew Jesus Christ was returning tomorrow? I hope we are ready to meet Him right now, as we are all one heartbeat away.

The rapture is an irrelevant topic that divides the body of Christ into "pre-tribulation, mid-tribulation, post-tribulation, no-tribulation, and there-is-no-rapture" sections. One thing we can all agree on is that Jesus Christ will return to Earth when the Father is ready. And nothing we happen to believe at the time will change that.

The long answer: Eschatology was an obsession of mine for years. I had timelines drawn up and taped on the walls. Along with scriptures, and arrows, and dates to connect them. I had dissected Revelation and Daniel and sketched their images and visions. I was searching the world leaders for characteristics of the anti-christ. Bill Clinton came charismatically close, but the world continued on. (Joke).

When I continued to press the Lord about it, He told me that I wouldn't be going anywhere, for I would be here teaching others about Him. When I didn't let it go at that, He told me this through a prophet from Texas I'd never met before:

"Son, you're one that desires to know the end from the beginning. Don't be so concerned about the retirement plan. It's time for refirement, that is where I stand. And don't be so concerned about the end of the Book. Go back to the beginning, take another look. You don't need all the things to fit. Just allow your purpose and mine to knit."

Three times was enough, so I let it go. I try and focus on what He is doing today in the here and now. What is the Spirit saying to the church today? Tomorrow will take care of itself.

When people ask when Jesus is returning, I usually answer: "Are you ready?" See, that is the important question. For when Jesus Christ returns,

Every eye will see Him (Revelation 1:7).

No one will be left behind.

I totally agree with Rod's answer, even though so many people nower days feel that we are in the midst of the Tribulation right now! However the word also says that we will be facing tribulations (many problems and hardships) etc., but I strongly believe that this does not refer to the great Tribulation! Pray and ask the Hl. Spirit to enlighten and direct you, and then go to the book of Daniel, and perhaps to Revelations!  May the Lord bless you both!!

I believe the taking of the church (rapture) will be prior to the tribulation. More scriptures support this than not. Two good books that I would recommend on this are: "15 Future Events that will shake the world" by Ed Hindson and "The End Times in Chronological Order" by Ron Rhodes. They both give a lot of insight with scripture to back it up.

I hope this helps. God Bless.
