May He grant you your hearts desire and fulfill all your plans! Psalms 20:4 ESV
It was so hot in the field that day that people were getting sick to their stomachs and the rest of us had to crop their row. As a young boy about twelve working in the tobacco field, my world was very small. My family was the least of the least and I was in my twenties before I even knew what college was, and we could never have afforded it anyway.
Still I had the desire inside to work with computers from the first one that I saw on our black-and-white television, and though I hardly knew what they were, they fascinated me. It was beyond my wildest dream that I could ever work in that field and I did not dare get my hopes up. Things then were difficult. There was no internet to research with as we know it today.
One day while I was zealously trying to grow closer to God, He changed that and herded me into the computer field just like cattle through a chute. With no formal education, it seemed that it just came naturally and soon other technicians were calling me for advice. What I laid hands on, I fixed, and load balancing Linux mail servers became just another day at work. Computer programming just seemed to make sense and I picked right up on it. I now use those same skills to spread His word.
God is able to fulfill your wildest dreams. In fact, He is the one that gives them to us just as Joseph had his dream as a young boy. My dreams started to come to pass when I put Him first in my life. When nothing else mattered but Him, He gave me everything else. He is the One that makes dreams come true.
Prayer: Father, please reveal the gifts that you have placed in my life and teach me to use them better. Please use the skills and gifts that you have given me for Your kingdom, in the name of Jesus.
