The Words of Life

  • Jesus said therefore to the twelve, "You don't also want to go away, do you?" Simon Peter answered him, "Lord, to whom would we go? You have the words of eternal life. We have come to believe and know that you are the Christ, the Son of the living God." John 6:67'69 WEB.

The Apostle Peter had come to know Jesus as the source of all knowledge, grace, power, eternal life, and much more. For Jesus Christ is the living, breathing Son of Almighty God. He still has the answer or is the answer to any question that we have today.

Jesus didn't only come to redeem us but also give us everlasting life and a future to live now. He helps us live our lives every day in the best way possible, to walk in the light today. That is why Paul wrote Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." It is here and now, present tense.

So many times, I have spent hours working on something, only to find that I could have done it much faster if I had known some tiny detail. When I finally walked away from it for a few minutes and prayed, then the answer suddenly came. Coincidence? Maybe, but when I didn't bother to pray, it didn't happen. Have you ever struggled with something only to find out the solution was actually very simple?

It's always what we don't know that holds us back. We don't actually know what we don't know until someone that does tells us. Then after you understand the subject and have the insight, things become simple.

Jesus was so full of wisdom that everyone could see it. He had the answers to all of the hard questions, and it was given to Him by the Holy Spirit whenever He needed it. Yet, Jesus prayed a lot to stay spiritually sharp.

God said, "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge" (Hosea 4:6). James said, "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God who gives generously" (James 1:5). Joshua and the Israelites always inquired of God when making decisions. The one time they didn't, they were deceived, and the Lord let it happen, for they didn't bother to ask Him (Joshua 9:14).

God can give you the answers to the most difficult questions and reveal the simple path that will take you through the minefield if you take the time to pray and ask. He knows everything, and He has all of the answers. To whom else could we go? He knows what we don't yet know. So always take the time to inquire of the Lord, every day, in the here and now.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, please guide me and teach me what I don't know. Help me navigate this life in the best way possible. I need You, and I welcome You to be a part of my life today. In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen!

Note: For those following the Creation Photography weekly challenges, here is this week's theme from group leader, Dianna Wyles: 1 Thessalonians 5:15-18 "Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always strive to do what is good for each other and for everyone else. Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." ~ What I really need is an 'An Attitude of Gratitude' and lucky for me that's what our next fun theme is going to be! That ought to help me get there :). Our themes are always wide open for creative interpretation and did I mention we encourage you to post anything else that inspires you as well! Have an amazing week y'all, be good to each other, rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in everything ~ God bless! Here is the link: Creation Photographers
