Peace

In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. The peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6 WEB

Many saints and martyrs in the past have faced terrible trials and death with a peace in their hearts that no one could explain. Some sang hymns on the way to their execution, or even while being burned on a stake. They had access to the peace that surpasses all understanding.

Today many of us do not have this peace, but it is still available for us. God has not changed His mind. There is still a peace that surpasses all understanding, and it is available through prayer. It is a supernatural peace where you do not understand, but you thoroughly know that it will be OK.

My trials are minor in comparison, but major to me. So many times in my life, I have had to face a situation where I had no answers, but after praying for a few moments, I knew what to do. He taught me to lean on Him, especially in the workplace. When God shows up at church, it is hopefully expected. When He shows up in the workplace, it begins to shake things up.

When things begin to overwhelm you, stop and pray. Make your requests known to God. Pray until the peace comes and the stress leaves. Pour your heart out to God as you would your best friend and talk with Him throughout the day. Be yourself when praying and do not pretend to be too Holy, or speak in religious biblical terms to impress Him. He knows you far better than that. The best that you can do is to humbly acknowledge that you need Him to help you today.

Prayer: Father, I thank You so much for taking care of me. Please give me the grace to face this day and make it fun, simple, and easy. Cover me with Your presence and fill me with Your peace, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

Note: Good morning! The highlighted group of the week is "Through My Eyes", a private group for journaling God''s blessings (only seen by other group members). See and share where Jesus is in our daily life. The focus will be on sharing of everyday experiences with Jesus. The purpose is to become increasingly aware of Jesus and to be reminded of all the wonder that He brings in our lives and focus on seeing more of Him everywhere.
