When I am afraid, I will put my trust in you. In God, I praise his word. In God, I put my trust. I will not be afraid. What can flesh do to me? Psalms 56:3-4 WEB.Tired and needing a rest, David was on the run from his father-in-law King Saul and his men, who sought to kill David in a jealous rage. David had to leave town in a hurry in the middle of the night. Everything he owned was left behind when he fled. Even his wife was given to someone else after he left.
So David sought refuge in Gath, a Philistine city with whom Israel had been at war for years. King Saul couldn't go there. David felt the whole world was against him. While living in Gath, amid enemies that wanted to kill him only slightly less than Saul, David wrote Psalm 56, which included:
"In God, I put my trust. I will not be afraid. What can flesh do to me?"
After this, David went on to become a great king for forty years. He lived a very prosperous life after this season passed, so my point is this: Don't give up in the middle of the fight. You will never meet anyone truly great that doesn't have a story of how they got there. Stay positive, keep on praying, believing, hoping, and God will bring you through the bad times. The end of a thing can be better than the beginning (Ecclesiastes 7:8). Trials are confined to a limited season. They don't last forever.
When the whole world turns against you, and you are afraid, God is more than enough. When you place your trust in Him, you can't go wrong. Though problems may loom over you like a dark cloud, He can bring the sunshine again. When your job ends, He can get you a better one. When they no longer want you around, He will bring you to a place where you belong and surround you with new friends. He who trusts in God will not be moved. In God, I trust.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I put my trust in You. I will remain steadfast and not bow to fear with You by my side. I know You are there to catch me if I fall. Fulfill Your perfect will in my life and lead me into all that You have for me. In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen!Note: FAAD group members (Fight Against Anxiety & Depression) today is"Feel Good Friday!". This event is about lifting up each other up!
