David was greatly distressed; for the people spoke of stoning him, because the souls of all the people were grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters; but David strengthened himself in Yahweh his God. 1 Samuel 30:6 WEB
David was distressed. He and his men had wept until they no longer had the strength to weep. When they returned to their town, they had found it burned to the ground and all of their wives, children and belongings had been taken. Now the six hundred men, who were David's trusted friends, spoke of killing him themselves. David was sitting on the ground with nothing, no family, no friends, and no belongings. He had lost everything.
Then David pulled himself together, he strengthened himself in God. He asked God if He should pursue the Amalekites, and the Lord answered him that day and told him to pursue, for he would recover all. David and his men went after a much larger enemy force, defeated them, and brought back everyone and everything that had been taken from them. Nothing was missing (1 Samuel 30:19).
Sometimes it is just you and God facing a great challenge, and you have to make the best of it. Especially when those that you once trusted, turn into your enemy. When the world turns its back on you, He is still there. When you feel alone in the crowd, God is still there.
When David was completely alone, he turned to God and received the answer because a word from the Lord changes everything. Talk to God, build yourself back up, ask Him for the answers, strengthen yourself in the Lord. Whatever you do, don't give up because God is able to help you recover all and can make a bad situation, into a victory.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I love You today and I look to You for the answer. Please give me wisdom and a clear vision for my life. Open the doors that I should go through, and give me a push me to take the next step. I want all that You have for me, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.
