Then Mordecai asked them to return this answer to Esther: 'Don't think to yourself that you will escape in the king's house any more than all the Jews. For if you remain silent now, then relief and deliverance will come to the Jews from another place, but you and your father's house will perish. Who knows if you haven't come to the kingdom for such a time as this?' Esther 4:13 WEB
Esther was not ready for the task that Mordecai was asking her to do. To go into the king's presence uninvited was a death sentence. There were so many things that needed to be done and plans to be made. This is not the time for that she thought. Then Mordecai told her that if she kept silent, God would use someone else. So Esther stepped out in faith, and God used her to save her people.
Many times when God calls us to do something, we start making excuses much like that. 'I am not ready yet. I am already too busy! There is so much I need to do. I need to get my life straightened out first, then I will do it. I really do not have the time. My life is a mess! I am not good enough. I can't do that!'
Anytime we begin to look at ourselves and our abilities, we will never measure up to the task that God will give us. If we could do it alone, then we would not need Him, so He will scale the task accordingly. We will always need His help. When the time comes, you will have to say 'Ready or not, here I go.'
When you feel God tugging on your heart, do not wait, do it then. He will cause you to have all that you have need of, and when He is with you, who can stand against you? Do not try and 'put your house in order first' because the enemy will make sure that it never happens. When you start walking with God, that is when your life will come back together. When God comes calling, do not make Him wait, go for it.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, please help me see the world through Your eyes and my part in it clearly. Give me a fresh vision and help me get in tune with You. I want to be a part of what You are doing today, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.
