He waited seven days, the time appointed by Samuel. But Samuel did not come to Gilgal, and the people were scattering from him. So Saul said, 'Bring the burnt offering here to me, and the peace offerings.' And he offered the burnt offering. As soon as he had finished offering the burnt offering, behold, Samuel came. 1 Samuel 13:8 ESV
Samuel had told Saul to meet him at Gilgal and that he would make an offering and tell Saul what he must do in the coming battle. Saul waited the seven days but when his army started to scatter, he panicked and made the offering himself. Of course, as soon as Saul finished his offering Samuel showed up.
When the deadline starts approaching we often start sweating, panicking, what are we going to do? Where is God? They say God is never late but He also is not early. He arrives right on time. We are the ones that start to waver, and it is usually right before God shows up.
Do not give up yet. God's help and provision for you is closer than ever. Often we find that when we reach the end of our rope, that God is there to catch us. To us, it seems like the very last minute.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I pray that You help me to hang on, draw me to You and give me a clear vision. Change my heart and cause me to trust in You, in the name of Jesus I pray.
Note: Good morning! The highlighted group of the week is God''s Children Prayer Group: This group''s purpose is to pray for the children of this world that are sick or going through a difficulty in which they need to see God show up for them in a big way. The group is private, so all are welcome, but posts will only be seen by group members. ALSO, the Creation Photographers theme of the week is "Sun-up and Sun-down" based on Psalm 113:3! As always, you are free to post anything else that inspires you, too!
