Sing to Yahweh a new song! Sing to Yahweh, all the earth. Sing to Yahweh! Bless his name! Proclaim his salvation from day to day! Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous works among all the peoples. Psalms 96:1 WEB
I was so nervous when I took the microphone. At our church, the singers in our praise and worship team had failed to show up, and the rest elected me to lead them in praise that day. I did not want to, but I got somewhere quiet, prayed, and I heard the Lord tell me this very clearly. It put me in tears and it changed the way that I looked at singing praise from that day forth. He said:
'If one of your children came to you with tears in their eyes, and told you how much they loved you, and thanked you for all that you have done for them, would you care what their voice sounded like or if they pronounced every thing correctly? Would that be your focus? Or would you be glad and just listen to what they had to say? Neither do I care what your voice sounds like. It is why you do it.'
David was a praiser and God loved him. Even Jesus and the disciples sang hymns together (Mark 14:26). The Lord does not care about what your voice sounds like. Lift up your voice and sing praises to Him and you will see great rewards in your life. Chains will be broken and depression will flee. It is not how, but why. There is something about parents that love to see their children sing and our Heavenly Father is no different. Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart (Psalm 37:4).
Prayer: Heavenly Father I thank You today and ask that You set me free from the fear of man. Let Your praise rise up inside of me and bubble over. I praise Your wonderful name and I am so thankful to know You, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.
Note: "Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you." (Jeremiah 29:12) If you are in need of prayer, please do send your requests to our private prayer network, where we and the prayer team join together for you! RHM Prayer Network
