As Scary As Hell

Posted by Dion Todd April 30th, 2018 8,595 Views 0 Comments

He ordered the furnace heated seven times more than it was usually heated. And he ordered some of the mighty men of his army to bind Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, and to cast them into the burning fiery furnace. Daniel 3:19 ESV

As they were pushed to the edge of the roaring furnace, the heat coming up from the inferno killed the soldiers around them. Then they themselves were falling through the burning air, down into the fire below them. This was all because they had taken a stand for the Lord and refused to bow to Nebuchadnezzar's golden image.

I am sure it was scary as they looked down into the furnace, but they landed safely at the bottom and found they were not alone. There was a fourth Person in the furnace with them. The ropes that bound them burned off of them but they were unharmed and did not even smell like smoke. A nice touch.

You are going to make it. Though it looks as scary as hell itself, you are going to make it. Do not waver in your faith and do not compromise. When you get to the bottom you will find that you are not alone and only the things that are holding you back will be burned away.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I know that you are with me and that no weapon formed against me will prosper. I submit to Your will for my life and I know that you will bring me through this, in the name of Jesus.
