An Infinite Loop

Therefore don't be anxious, saying, 'What will we eat?', 'What will we drink?' or, 'With what will we be clothed?' For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore don't be anxious for tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Each day's own evil is sufficient. Matthew 6:31 WEB

Once I was working on a software program to help automate somethings for us. Each time I would test the application on the computer, the processor usage would climb to one hundred percent, and the computer would slow to a crawl. The cursor would just show an hour glass or the spinning beach ball, and the computer would soon become unresponsive.

The system would become comatose, too busy thinking to respond to anymore input. All the system resources were being used up, but it was accomplishing absolutely nothing. In the code, I had forgotten to include a proper break out for a certain condition, and the computer application was now stuck in what is called 'an infinite loop.' It was repeating the same thing over and over again to itself, endlessly, and it would never move on. Eventually, all the remaining system resources would be used up, and you would finally get 'Not Responding.'

Worrying about tomorrow is a lot like this. You try and solve tomorrow's problems in your mind. When you fail, you try again, then again, and again. Soon it becomes an infinite loop and you lie in bed staring at the ceiling unable to sleep. This loop will drain all of your energy until you are completely exhausted and no longer responding to input from others. The noise level in your head will grow louder, and it will keep you from hearing God's still small voice. You become so tired, and you have solved absolutely nothing.

Stop. Break out and through that wall of doubt and fear. God will help you through tomorrow when it comes. When the problem arrives, the answer will also appear. Today is the tomorrow that you were worried about yesterday. He has brought you this far, so do not get caught in an infinite loop of worrying about tomorrow, and miss living today. Trust God, and tomorrow will take care of itself, just as it did yesterday.

Prayer: Heavenly Father I pray that You bring the break through in my life. Help me break out of this loop and to reach a new level. Fill me up with Your Holy Spirit, cover me with Your peace, and let me be a carrier of Your love on the earth. I choose to trust You with tomorrow, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

Note: For those who are participating in our Creation Photographers theme of the week: Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 "There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing, a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away, a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak, 8 a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace." - 'Seasons Change' will be our next fun theme and is wide open for creative interpretation! Show us how the seasons are changing where you live, or how the seasons of your life are changing. Get creative :)! While my camera is on the blink this week, I do have a few older shots that reflect my seasons of change as a mother, a grandmother, an author, a teacher, an artist, a daughter, and through every season, a heart blessed child a God. Have a fantastic week everyone and may you always find time for everything under the sun that our Grand Creator leads you to - God bless! Here is the link: Creation Photographers
