Come now, and let's reason together, says Yahweh: Though your sins are as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow. Though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool. If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the good of the land Isaiah 1:18 WEB.
I grew up in the country and have always loved ATVs, four-wheel drives, dirt bikes, off-roading, and mud bogging. For a while, a group of us would set out at night on our ATVs and race through the swamp, splashing each other every time we got the chance to do so. Passing through swamp water deeper than the headlights, drowning the engine out and being pulled back home, or being winched from a muddy ditch were often part of the festivities.
At the end of the night, you would have had less mud on you if you had just rolled in it. Because the mud would splash and dry, splash and dry, and soon you wore a thick crust of dried earth like a crab shell. It was heavy and cracked when you walked. When we finally got back home, you couldn't tell what race of people we were, and we would wash in the yard with a water hose before entering the house to take a shower.
In that light, some of us have done some spiritual mud bogging in our days, and you can no longer tell that we were once Christian. All evidence has been covered over now by a thick crust of mistakes, shame, and defeat. We begin to feel as if there is no way that all of that is ever coming off, for it is just too much. Our past builds upon us and forms a heavy burden, and we refuse to turn to the One Person who can take it away because we feel that He is mad at us or ashamed of us. Yet, that is only a lie the enemy wants you to believe.
The truth is that the Lord is not angry with us, for He knows us better than we do. Whether your sins are one or a million, the Lord will wash you right now if you simply ask Him. In one minute, your entire life can be washed as "white as snow," for God is not mad at you for what you have done in the past. He loves you, and He will give you a fresh start if you only take a moment to talk to Him today. If you are still breathing, then there's still time.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I thank You for redeeming me from the enemy. Now I am Yours. Please forgive me for the things that I have done wrong. Cleanse me, wash me as white as snow, and guide me from this day forth. In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen!
Note: "So they took branches of palm trees and went out to meet him, crying out, 'Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord, even the King of Israel!'
