The Whole World In His Hands

Posted by Dion Todd March 3rd, 2024 4,175 Views 0 Comments

The God who made the world and all things in it, he, being Lord of heaven and earth, doesn't dwell in temples made with hands. He isn't served by men's hands, as though he needed anything, seeing he himself gives to all life and breath and all things. Acts 17:24'25 WEB.

He's got the whole world in His hands. Those words were part of a great song that I learned as a child, and I believed it. I could just picture God's huge hands holding the world. Then I grew up, got a job, and as life started happening to me, I slowly lost the focus of His mighty hands.

Careers, problems, relationships, and bills grew bigger and bigger. At the same time, the hands of God began to look smaller and smaller. Before long, I couldn't picture them at all. The bad part of living like this is that everything we can see, and all we are working for, is temporary and will pass away. In comparison, the unseen things are eternal (2 Corinthians 4:18).

God's hand had not changed, but my view of them had. He still has the whole world in His hands. The breath of air that you just breathed in came from Him. He provided it for you, and though you cannot even see it, you would die without it. The day will come when it will return to Him (Ecclesiastes 12:7).

Do not lose sight of God's loving hands. Remember the things that He has done in your life. Encourage yourself in the Lord like David did (1Samuel 30:6). Our Heavenly Father is still the Creator of the universe. While the problem you face may look big in your hands, it wouldn't even be noticeable in His. So give it to Him in prayer and trust Him to help you take care of it.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I thank You, and I know that You have the whole world in Your hands. You created it and us, Lord. I know that You know best, and I choose to trust You this day. Please guide me to where I need to be. In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen!

Leisel, We will see a new Jerusalem after the 7 year tribulation, do you think? Or will the new Jerusalem be in Heaven? It seems like Jesus would bring us to Heaven during those 7 years of tribulation. We will get a foretaste until the 7 years are over and then come back to live on earth called the New Jerusalem. I am just guessing about that. I am not really a Prophet!

Amen to that, Nell! Oh, I wish I could go to the Holy Land, I want to walk where Jesus walked and where He prayed and where He suffered and died for us, and then rose again!!! 🙏 Also, thank you so much, Pastor, for the many hours spent and endless work to expand the outreach making it available to so many more, God bless you!!!🙏
