Romans 9:30-32- What then shall we say? That the Gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness, have obtained it, a righteousness that is by faith; but Israel, who pursued a law of righteousness, has not attained it. why not? Because they pursued it not by faith but as if it were by works. They stumbled over the stumbling stone.
Galatians 1: 6-7-I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you by the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel-- which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ.
The gospel that Paul is referring to is the gospel of grace. The revelation of Jesus Christ. Grace is the gospel, and it is unequivocally the truth. Faith through grace is the only gospel and anything to the contrary is a perversion of the gift of Jesus Christ.
There are attempts to make grace a part of the gospel, or a dulling down, or ever worse, a concept. The enemy never wants you to be free, and so he will use tricks to persuade you to think, that your righteousness about you, and what you do, or have done, good or bad. You see, the trick is to water down the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. The truth is by faith through grace we have righteousness, all of us, without exception for those of us who accept Him through faith.
When we sin, or do something stupid, does that mean that we must crucify Jesus over again? No way! Jesus' blood covers us all eternally, and as long as we focus on His grace, and not ourselves, we can never be condemned. When we allow condemnation into our lives, it will lead to more and more sin, condemnation, sickness, poverty, and even death.
Look at Hebrews 10:26-29: If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God. Anyone who rejected the law of Moses died without mercy on the testimony of tow or three witnesses. How much more severely do you think a man deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God under foot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of th covenant that sanctified him, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace?
You see there was one sacrifice that was made for you and I, that is Jesus at the cross. There is no more sacrificing of animals, that covenant was ended with the final sacrifice of Jesus Christ, poured out for you and me, in His blood for the forgiveness of sins.
So if we do not see the Spirit of Grace in all of our situations, we insult that sacrifice. There aren't enough things we can sacrifice to compare to the death of Jesus Christ and His Grace in us.
When we try and take on condemnation, Hebrews says, that we will have a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume.
Do you ever feel that way after you sin? Of course you do. Scripture tells us, that we are not the enemy of God, but the beloved of God. God gave us Jesus so that we can glorify Him. The final sacrifice has been made. Through faith in Jesus, we no longer have to accept condemnation in our lives. That is the root of all sickness, poverty, sin. Give Jesus the glory, it is only through Him and Him alone that we are righteous. Do not allow the lies of the enemy to put you on trial for something Jesus already paid for. The truth is, His gospel, His grace is sufficient for you and me. Receive it today in the revelation of Jesus Christ in any situation and be free.
