Yahweh opened the mouth of the donkey, and she said to Balaam, "What have I done to you, that you have struck me these three times?" Balaam said to the donkey, "Because you have mocked me, I wish there were a sword in my hand, for now I would have killed you." The donkey said to Balaam, "Am I not yo...

Now the king of Syria had commanded the captains of his chariots, saying, "Don't fight with small nor great, except only with the king of Israel." Finding Your Purpose: Part 1

  • Finding Your Purpose, Part 1 from Jim Jarrell on Vimeo.

Hello everyone, thank you all for watching. I am planning to do a series of videos called; “Finding Your Purpose.” With the Coronavirus in full swing, these videos will show that God is real and very much alive. As I was reading my Bible, I came across a story that describes our purpose completely. I have always believed that if God would do more miracles in this day, there would be less people who did not believe in Him. My goal is to show that the supernatural can happen at any time. Jesus sent His twelve disciples out to the tribes in Israel telling them in Matthew 10:8, "Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons. Freely you received, freely give." Jesus was teaching them that they had the power to do miracles also. You see, Jesus was telling them to perform the supernatural all through the land but not to leave Israel. The people of Israel knew Jesus and His disciples and what was possible. After I read this scripture, it convicted me the supernatural really scares some people. This series of videos comes from the last two verses in this scripture.

Luke 8:26-39 ~ "They sailed to the country of Gerasenes, which is opposite Galilee. And when Jesus came out onto land, He was met by a man from the city who was possessed with demons; and who had not put on any clothing for a long time, and was not living in a house, but in the tombs. Seeing Jesus, he cried out and fell before Him, and said in a loud voice, what business do we have with each other, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg You, do not torment me. For Jesus had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. For it had seized him many times; and he was bound with chains and shackles and kept under guard, yet he would break his bonds and be driven by the demon into the desert. And Jesus asked him, what is your name? And he said Legion; for many demons had entered him. They were imploring Him not to command them to go away into the abyss. Now there was a herd of many swine feeding there on the mountain; and the demons implored Him to permit them to enter the swine. And He gave them permission. And the demons came out of the man and entered the swine; and the herd rushed down the steep bank into the lake and was drowned. When the herdsmen saw what had happened, they ran away and reported it in the city and out in the country. The people went out to see what had happened; and they came to Jesus, and found the man whom the demons had gone out, sitting down at the feet of Jesus, clothed and in his right mind; and they became frightened. Those who had seen it reported to them how the man who was demon-possessed had been made well. And all the people of the country of the Gerasenes and the surrounding district asked Him to leave them, for they were gripped with great fear; and He got into a boat and returned. But the man from whom the demons had gone out was begging Him that he might accompany Him; but He sent him away, saying, return to your house and describe what great things God has done for you. So he went away, proclaiming throughout the whole city what great things Jesus had done for him."

All through the New Testament Jesus did things that most people had never seen. I have come to understand the supernatural can be quite scary for some folks. Just imagine, the people of Gerasenes maybe, had never heard of Jesus or that God performed the supernatural through Him. They obviously knew the man who Jesus healed or had heard of him. The story says that many times they had put chains on him and guards. Now this man was in his right mind, fully dressed, going around telling everyone about how God had healed him. Jesus performed one miracle and the society became so frightened, they asked Jesus to leave. I just wonder how many of them could not believe the man was the same guy they had chained and guarded.

I do not see anywhere in the Bible where Jesus went back to Gerasenes. The only way others could hear about Jesus was through the man who was healed. This is when I realized why God had shown me the things He had. I do understand that there will be people who do not believe me, but I fully intend to communicate through these videos what great things God has done in my life, I am not afraid of the supernatural, that is our purpose! I hope you enjoy them!

So true Jim. The battle is not of flesh and bone but in the spiritual realm and of the mind. Good  job Jim this is a key subject for all who follow Jesus. I'm eager to hear your next message.
