Finding Your Purpose: Part 6

  • Finding Your Purpose: Part 6 from Jim Jarrell on Vimeo.

Hello everyone, this is Jim Jarrell and I am calling this series, “Finding Your Purpose.”

This is my sixth video in the series. I have quoted Luke 8:38-39 in each of them which said; “But the man from whom the demons had gone out of was begging Him that he might accompany Him; but He sent him away, saying, return to your house and describe what great things God has done for you. So he went away, proclaiming throughout the whole city what great things Jesus had done for him.” That is exactly why I am making these videos, God has done so many things in my life. It is time to tell you about them all.

As I said in my third video in this series, when Neal Richard called me, he said God has a purpose for you at our church. I personally think that purpose was to introduce me to the supernatural. Far too many things happened there to be anything else. God seemed ready to show me that I did not have to be at church in order for Him to speak to me. I said in that video how young I felt after being healed at the church the first day.

In the spring of 2006, I joined a softball team. At 54 years old, I was the oldest player on the team. When they found out I could pitch, they were more than willing to add me to their team. We did OK that spring, I think we were 6 and 4 in the season. We won the fall league, I think we were 9 and 1. They have a rule that says you must move up a league if you win your division. The spring of 2007, we moved to the next league up which had far younger players.

In our third game of the season. A young man came to bat who looked as though he played college baseball. He hit the second pitch I threw him right back at me. I had no time to get away and that ball hit me on the lower part of my right leg. I went straight to the ground in pain. As I lay there stunned, I heard a voice say; “Get up and finish, I am going to heal you!” As I looked around to see who was talking to me, no one was that close. I told the players I was OK. I knew I had heard the voice, so I decided to do what I had been told. I got up and pitched the ball, we made a double play and the inning came to an end. Of course my turn to bat was next, I swung at the first pitch and hobbled down to first base. The game ended after the next two outs.

I got home and limped into the house. As I was telling my wife about all that had happened, I told her about hearing the voice telling me to get up and finish. She responded with: “If God told you He was going to heal you, He will do it.” We were discussing my taking a shower when the voice spoke again. God said; “Do not look at it or rub it, I am going to heal you.” I asked Joanne if she had heard what the voice said, it sounded so clear to me. She said, “No, but I would follow what He said.” I went to shower, and you know I did not wash the area I had been hit, nor did I look at it. I went to bed still in pain.

The next morning when I woke up, I expected to be healed. That was not God’s plan. My wife and I have a deal, if you can not go to work, then you should go to the doctor. I was explaining to her that I did not think I could work this way. As we were discussing our day, the voice came again. God said, “Get up, get dressed and go to work, I am going to heal you.” I looked at Joanne and asked her did she hear Him this time. She responded with; “No, but I would do whatever you heard.” I got up got dressed and went to work with my leg really hurting.

My job that day was to go into every condo in a three-story building with no elevator. I normally pray every morning, but under the circumstances I had not done so that day. As I sat in that driveway, I just said to God, “I know I heard your voice, but I can not do my job unless you heal me.” Just as I had said that, God spoke again. He said, “Get out and go to work, I am going to heal you.” I got out and got my things together and I took about three steps toward that building and my leg did not hurt at all. I know how strange this sounds, but God completely healed my leg. I went through that day pain free! Thank you Lord!

When I got home and was discussing all that had happened in the day. The voice of God came again. God said, “Now you can look at it and touch it!” I pulled up my pant leg and there were no stitch marks nor a bruise anywhere. My leg did not show where I had been hit at all. God does not need a church to get your attention if He decides to. Not one minute happened at a church, but God healed me anyway. I thank you all for your time, I will see you again!

Thanks Lynn, all of this took place in a three year span and it changed. God certainly has His own way of doing things. I hope some one will have some understanding as time goes on.

Jim, you are truly gifted by our Lord. You just must be one of the more fortunate ones to hear that "small soft voice." God bless you and continue on.

I assure you Bella, God does not speak to me in a small soft voice. Sometimes He can raise His voice if He choses to. I said from the beginning that I was a little different. That has not changed. It is all God's doing!
