Jeremiah said, Yahweh's word came to me, saying, Behold, Hanamel the son of Shallum your uncle will come to you, saying, 'Buy my field that is in Anathoth; for the right of redemption is yours to buy it.' So Hanamel my uncle's son came to me in the court of the guard according to Yahweh's word, and said to me, 'Please buy my field that is in Anathoth, which is in the land of Benjamin; for the right of inheritance is yours, and the redemption is yours. The word of the Lord came to Jeremiah and instructed him to buy his cousin's field. Before long, his cousin came to Jeremiah and offered to sell the land to him. Jeremiah the prophet then said, "Then I knew that this was the word of the Lord." So Jeremiah bought the field.

Once while on the last day of a seven day fast, my wife and I were praying in separate rooms. Just like anyone else on the last day of a fast, we were already planning our lunch and our menu for the rest of the week, maybe the month, when suddenly I felt that we were supposed to fast ten days. I was hungry and silently thought, "That cannot be the Holy Spirit, surely that is the devil!"

When we came out of our prayer rooms and sat at the table, my wife said, 'I think we are supposed to fast ten days' and like Cain, 'my countenance fell.' I looked at the clock and it was 10:10 on the 10th of the month. The number ten appeared everywhere. We gave in and continued to fast for another three days. The first seven days had been easy, but the last three were very difficult, almost like we were wrestling with something. We were.

At the end of the ten days, we saw real miracles happen. We went to a family Thanksgiving dinner and it suddenly turned into a prayer meeting. Most of them were out of jail that weekend, so we lined them up and as we prayed for them, they would crumple to the floor in tears. Painful relationships where people had not spoken to each other in years, were mended. When we prayed for people at church, they almost passed out. It was a major breakthrough and it brought fresh power from the Holy Spirit into our life.

When you feel like God may be speaking to you, He will often confirm it with signs around you, and then an open door. If that is the case, go for it, for the word of the Lord has come to you.

Prayer: Heavenly Father I thank You for speaking to me in a way that I understand. Please lead me into all that You have for me on this earth. I give You permission to work in my life. Open the doors and I will step through them. In the name of Jesus Christ I pray.
