Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven. James 5:13'15 NIV
As I got out of bed, I was more tired than when I had laid down. We had not slept now for weeks except for a brief moments here and there. My wife had some terrible choking cough that she had picked up and continuously coughed until she would throw up. She couldn't leave the house except to go to the doctor. No prescription, or inhaler, or cough syrup seemed to help and this had been going on now for two long months.
A traveling preacher was visiting our church that Sunday and we had not been to church together since it began. We felt that she should go, so we did and she coughed through the entire service. At the end of the service the preacher (Dennis DeGrasse, NC) asked if anyone needed prayer and we went up front.
He laid hands on my wife and began to pray and my wife started choking worse than ever. Finally he said something like 'Cough you are leaving now in the name of Jesus Christ!' and she was instantly healed. She had just been doubled over coughing, choking, red in the face, and now she was perfectly healed because of his prayer and it did not come back. She never had any more problems like that.
If you are sick, get the leaders of the church to anoint you with oil and pray for you. If you do not have a church then try and find one. We were not meant to walk alone down here and need each other. It is God who does the healing but He often uses His people as His hands.
Prayer: Father, I believe that You are the Healer. Please heal anything that is wrong in my body now, restore my health and vigor, in the name of Jesus.
Note: 'Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God.' (2 Philippians 4:6-7) ~ If you have a prayer need, we are here for you! We and the prayer team are ready to lift you up at our private prayer page: RHM Prayer Network
