I have said these things to you, while still living with you. But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things, and will remind you of all that I said to you." John 14:25'27 WEB.
One of the most challenging and rewarding things you will ever undertake is to learn to follow the prompting of the Holy Spirit. He has more wisdom than planet Earth combined and is always just a prayer away. The Holy Spirit is not limited to Biblical knowledge. He was there when God created the universe as the Spirit hovering over the waters (Genesis 1:2). He will still be with the bride at the end of the Book (Revelation 22:17). He is here to stay.
The Holy Spirit knows "All things," and He will share them with you if you take the time to ask. The Holy Spirit was with Moses (Numbers 11:29), He spoke through the prophets (Nehemiah 9:30), He came mightily on David (1Samuel 16:13), Jesus was filled with the Holy Spirit (Luke 4:1). The Apostles were all filled with the Holy Spirit, multiple times (Acts 2:4, Acts 4:21) and many others, even gentiles (Acts 10:45).
We are commanded to be filled with the Spirit: "Don't be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit" (Ephesians 5:18).
Yet many today do not even know that He exists, or teach others that He was only a part of church history: "It happened that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul, having passed through the upper country, came to Ephesus, and found certain disciples. He said to them, "Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?" They said to him, "No, we haven't even heard that there is a Holy Spirit" (Acts 19:1'2).
The Holy Spirit is alive and well today, and learning to be sensitive to His guidance will forever change your life. He has given me wisdom as a carpenter, transmission mechanic, computer technician, programmer, and writer. He has infinite wisdom to share about any subject that you face.
Today if you run out of answers, pray to our Heavenly Father, listen, and then watch for the response. It may be an email, a commercial, a road sign, or words from a friend, but you will recognize it when it comes. We do not have to walk alone, for He is with us.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, please fill me with Your Holy Spirit just as You have so many others. Share Your wisdom and knowledge with me today. Teach me new and better ways to do things. Help me see what others do not. In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen!
