John 3:30: He must become greater; I must become less
John 3:30: He must become greater; I must become less

This is not a typo. I intentionally wrote that scripture out twice. This is what our Lord spoke to me the other day at the farmers market with my son Jackson. We spent the day together and we went through the long lines of different area farm's displays until we found one that had everything we were looking for in one spot. We looked all over that stand and finally agreed on some Fuji apples and some odd looking sweet potatoes. We seemingly at random chose our produce placing them in separate plastic bags.
The price was set based on weight, and so the after weighing both bags separately, they equaled the same price, $3.30!
Different types of food, different density, different everything except the two bags cost the exact the same, and it was $3.30!
I prayed about it and the Lord led me to John 3:30. Further, He led me to add them together and we get John 6:60, and yes there is a 6:60, and it says: On hearing it, many of his disciples said, This is a hard teaching. Who can accept it?
So The Lord led me through this. John 6 is talking about Jesus being the bread of life, He is who we feast from and He is real food. Some people could not accept the truth and so they deserted Jesus. They did not understand Him. The same is true today. We can get bogged down into ritualistic works based approach and not realize that Jesus is much more than what our mind can comprehend. The point that Jesus is leading me on to share is that we must not limit the power of what and who Jesus is. He is trans formative in every way. He is our sustenance and so much more. We can not just eat from His flesh and drink from His blood, but we can become full on His perfect life giving body.
He is more than a provider, and when we take the limits off of Jesus He becomes so much more than what we can imagine. We must make Him greater in our hearts and minds.
When we remove the parts that we do to achieve, and allow Jesus to do what He does, then our lives are so much more fulfilling. This is a tough teaching for sure, but I want to be clear. The more we give to Jesus, and point to Him and His work, the more successful our lives will be. He wants us to eat from His body every day! He wants to be the source of all things for each and every one of us. He is such an intimate and wonderful savior, that He just wants us to have extravagant, wonderful, meaningful, and deep lives with Him in the center. When we make Him greater than ourselves, He will elevate us to soaring new and wonderful heights. Our business will become His business. Our health will become His health. Our wealth will become His wealth, and our relationships will have all new meaning. He IS, and always will be. See yourself less, and Jesus greater in every situation and watch what Jesus does. You don't have to trust me on this, try it yourself. See Jesus greater, become less, and your life will be changed forever in an instant. As for me, the cost is made clear. He must become greater; I must become less. That is the price for what I desire in life. He will give me all that I desire in this life and beyond for the simple simple cost of John 3:30. Is this too hard a teaching, and can we collectively accept it?
