In times past, when Saul was king over us, it was you who led Israel out and in. Yahweh said to you, You shall be shepherd of my people Israel, and you shall be prince over Israel. So all the elders of Israel came to the king to Hebron; and king David made a covenant with them in Hebron before Yahweh: and they anointed David king over Israel. David was thirty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years. 2 Samuel 5:2-4 WEB.
David was a young boy when the Lord had Samuel anoint him as king over Israel. David was probably between ten to fifteen years old when this happened (1 Samuel 16:13). It doesn't give us an exact age, but David was so young that he wasn't even considered when they lined up his seven brothers (1 Samuel 16:9). Yet, God passed over the first seven brothers and chose David, the least of the least.
David was anointed with oil in front of his seven brothers, and the Spirit of the Lord rushed upon him. From that day forth, David began to grow into his destiny. Difficult obstacles appeared, and divine doors opened. David killed lions, bears, giants (1 Samuel 17:36), and tens of thousands of Philistines (1 Samuel 18:7). He played music for King Saul and became his armor-bearer (1 Samuel 16:21). David loved, and he lost (1 Samuel 18:19).
At thirty years old, David finally became king. Yet, there was a gap of fifteen to twenty years between the promise and the fulfillment. God used this time to refine David, train him, establish him in the people's eyes, and thoroughly test his character. You could randomly choose a day from David's life, and most of them would look pretty mundane. Yet, when we read the book of highlights, it is pretty exciting. David's life was not an easy one. Sometimes, he defeated giants; sometimes, he tended sheep, and sometimes, he had to run from his family.
When I was young, the Lord told me that I would be in ministry one day, but I seemed to end up in everything except that. I was a mechanic, painter, musician, and a carpenter. I worked with computers. It was twenty-five years later before I was suddenly pushed into ministry. It hadn't been in my plans the day before it happened, and it caught me totally by surprise, for I had long given up on it. Yet, I use the skills I learned back then to do what we do today.
We often want it all, and we want it now. We can't seem to look past today while God is looking at our entire life span. It was a long road from the promise to the fulfillment. The day is coming when what the Lord has promised you will be fulfilled. The thing that you have almost given up on can yet come to pass. That day is still coming.

Amen and Amen!!! Dear Heavenly Father, please help me to be as faithful as YOU are! Lead me into all that You have for me! Please help me to be strong in the face of adversity! I put my trust in YOU alone! Please have Your way with me, oh Lord! In the holy name of Jesus Christ I ask and pray, AMEN!!! --- And thank you dear Lord for removing a very dark personality like a dark shadow hovering over our grandson Alexander and his wife trying to affect and hurt their spousal relationship, and thank you Lord for another blessing, since January was going to be a tough month financially and YOU made a way for us, and opened a door of blessings, thank You from the bottom of my heart, our hearts, we praise Your holy name!!! ππ
Amen π I need prayer for direction in so many areas. From what to do when the church is doing allow people to stay in the church that live openly sinful lives to battling law enforcement over a car accident where the officer is being spiteful. And many other things Satan is throwing at me. I know Iβm calling to preach. Possibly in the deliverance ministry. And Satan is trying to shut me up. He failed trying to kill ne with cancer He failed trying to kill me in a car accident. And thatβs just the last 8 months. He is trying to steal my family. What do you guys think about Matthew 18 where it talks about how to deal with people in the church living a sinful life (homosexuality)? Are we to keep our nose out of it and keep them in the church or do as Matthew 18 states? How do I deal with officers who are spiteful because I question their actions? Lord please give me guidance in what to do and where to go. Amen π

Michael, you certainly have a lot going on there, and I hate legal drama. May the Lord give you the grace to get through that π (Matthew 5:39). I am sure satan would like to shut you up if he has the chance.
On banning people from the church though, I just went and read (Matthew 18:1-35) within this context and immediately felt conviction and chills. I will certainly not be the one to cast the first stone at what is quite possibly one of His sheep trying to attend Church and learn more about Him.
Consider: (Matthew 18:33-35) - Should not you also have had compassion on your fellow servant, even as I had pity on you? And his lord was angry, and delivered him to the jailers, till he should pay all that was due unto him. So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if you from your hearts forgive not everyone his brother their trespasses.
I don't want to have to pay the debt I have owed. Also consider what we have done to be forgiven of all of our sins and how easily it would be for them to be forgiven within the next 2 seconds and be as righteous as we. I am not saying homosexuality is biblical, absolutely not God's will for you. But I have been run out of a church because my friend had long hair when I brought him to a revival meeting, and I never went back there either.
May God bless you and help you along the way ππ
Thank you Lord for giving us yourself in the flesh to become our hope, future, and purpose in this life. Guide us, makes us, and mold us. I pray for protection over our incoming president and guidance. Guide us to be vessels for your revival, if the laborers are few, give us stamina and endurance to be more effective in preparation for your harvest. Guide me where you send me. And I pray the Bibles will find hearts hungry for your word, and thirsty for your righteousness. Please be with the members of this church and the churches across the world
