If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we haven't sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. 1 John 1:8-10 WEB.
So there I sat in my prayer room, feeling washed up and wondering why I was there at all that day. After going through a drawn-out messy divorce, I didn't go to church at all, and I rarely prayed. I felt the Lord was done with me. I had let Him down one too many times, and the whole church as well. Yep, "those days are finished," I thought.
I felt there might be hell in my future, but at least I was free from hell on Earth for a while. While thinking on this, I flipped open my Bible, and it fell on (Romans 11:29): "For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable." I pondered this a moment and thought, what if I haven't trashed God's plan for me?
I prayed about this over the next week and found that is how He felt. Sure, God hates divorce, yet He divorced Israel (Jeremiah 3:8). He's been there. The Lord was waiting on me to get up from my bed of self-condemnation, and I learned that I could be forgiven as well. We all fall, but not all get up and the church has become skilled at keeping you down after a divorce.
We all know that others can be forgiven, but we often don't see it for us when we stumble. So when you fall, get back up. God isn't angry with you, and He doesn't take back His gifts or calling when you stumble. His plan is still on for your life. You are the only one that can stop that. Just remember that forgiveness is for you as well.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, please show me areas of my life where I need to accept Your forgiveness. Set me free from my past. Restore what the enemy has taken from me, Lord. In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen!

I had never noticed that verse in Romans before. I often feel like I have failed in God's best plan for my life ... but I have to remember He knows the beginning and the end and everything in-between ahead of time and can use my failings if I let Him. Your teachings are often eye-openers for me and are very much appreciated every day. Thank you.
I certainly feel like this. Yesterday the Lord put in front of me every song. Every word. Every story even day 39 in the Love Dare that tkld me to keep fighting and not give up on my marriage. I told my wife its draggjng for a reason. God will and i know he will restore my wifes love and our marriage. I refuse to give up. I met my wife 22 yrs ago today. Married 9 yrs. I know God is NOT gonna let Satan destroy this union God created. Melissa you are my Rib. Please keep praying for us everyone. Its going to work. Power of prayer is amazing. God bless us all today.
Good morning Pastor Todd and Sis. Sylvia,
I needed this word here; I feel this way at times. I think about how the Lord used me in times past, and now there is so much clutter it seems like that is a distant memory. I will not give however, but will go on to see what the end is going to be. I appreciate Refreshing Hope Ministries.
