Moses said to the people, "Don't be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of Yahweh, which he will work for you today: for the Egyptians whom you have seen today, you shall never see them again. Yahweh will fight for you, and you shall be still." Yahweh said to Moses, "Why do you cry to me? Speak to the children of Israel, that they go forward." Exodus 14:13β15 WEB.
Moses and the Israelite people stood on the river bank with the Egyptian army closing in on them. Moses had just finished a great faith-filled speech about resisting fear. He had told the people that the enemy you see today, you will never see again. Then in the following verse, the Lord asked him: "Why do you cry to Me? Tell the people to go forward."
Sometimes we can become paralyzed, waiting to know the will of God when we really need to get moving. Oh yes, we need to pray and listen, but do we really need seven confirmations before we get started? A car can only be steered while moving, and a boat can't be navigated while sitting at anchor. Often the Lord will speak to us after we start the journey. If you miss Him, He will find you, for the Shepherd goes after the lost sheep.
"By faith, Abraham, when he was called, obeyed to go out to the place which he was to receive for an inheritance. He went out, not knowing where he went." (Hebrews 11:8 WEB).
In our life, we often find that a word from God comes to correct our course much as they do on a cattle drive. As long as the herd is moving in the right direction, little has to be said. The word comes to us when we start to get off course, come to an intersection, or to bring encouragement during a difficult part of the journey.
Looking back over my life, I have sometimes felt like I was being herded through a loading chute with no door on either side. In fact, I prefer it when the Lord does it that way, for it keeps my decisions simple. Put Him first in your life, let your journey begin, and let Him correct your course as needed.
As long as we are walking the correct path, it's often pretty quiet. Isaiah 30:21 reads, "And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, This is the way, walk you in it; when you turn to the right hand, and when you turn to the left." A word of correction comes when you turn from His path, and I say that from experience.
Also, you stay with the last word given until a new one comes. Even things that I felt strongly about which seemed to fail still worked out for our good, if for no more than education. So don't become paralyzed by fear and anxiety because you feel that you may miss "God's Will." He will catch you if you fall.
If you have a problem determining His will, how do you know this isn't it? That idea that keeps returning could very well be Him trying to guide you. It's often easier to follow the voice of God than you think. All that it takes is putting Him first in your life, and then He will bring the course corrections as they are needed one day at a time.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I choose to put You first in my life. I submit to Your will. Please guide me today, and put me where I need to be. Help me become the very best version of myself and to shine Your light on this earth. In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen!
Note: Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.β (Jeremiah 29:12-13) ~ If you have a prayer need, we are here for you! Dear Heavenly Father, please help me to move forward in my life. I feel paralyzed with fear. I'm stuck in this cycle and want to get out of it and enjoy life again. Depression is a dark place with evil lurking around every corner just waiting for the right time to attack. You are the light of my life. You push out all darkness. Thank You Jesus for being my anchor in the storms of life here on Earth. Some day, I will see You in Paradise. In Jesus Name I Pray... Amen ππΌ

Thanks, Pastor! I'm praying every single word of that prayer with all my heart. Forgive me Lord, when I absent-mindedly might leave You out of the equation of each new day. You have gifted me a life I don't deserve and I thank you for each breath. Help me to sing Your praises in all circumstances. In Jesus' Holy Name I pray, Amen
