So Hannah rose up after they had finished eating and drinking in Shiloh. Now Eli the priest was sitting on his seat by the doorpost of Yahweh's temple. She was in bitterness of soul, and prayed to Yahweh, weeping bitterly. 1 Samuel 1:9β10 WEB.
Hannah poured out her heart to the Lord. She wanted a child so badly that the rest of her life seemed empty, and nothing else mattered. Her husband, Elkanah, loved her. They had a great life, but she was troubled and barren. Nothing but a child could seem to fill the hole in her heart.
Hannah prayed so hard for a son that the priest Eli thought she was drunk and insulted her. Yet, the Lord heard her prayer and granted her request. Hannah had a son the following year, and she named him "Samuel," which means "Asked of God." Hannah didn't need to have a son. Her prayer wasn't a matter of life and death. It was just a desire of her heart, something she deeply wanted.
Also, delight yourself in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart. (Psalm 37:4) WEB.
When it's important to you, it's important to God. Of course, that doesn't mean we will always get everything we want. Because our heavenly Father loves us, He will not grant us things that are harmful to us. Nor will He work against His own nature or His word. Listen closely, and He will let you know His answer. Put your trust, your faith, and your hope in Him.
When you need help, get somewhere quiet, and pour out your heart. God already knows, but James wrote that sometimes we don't have because we ask don't ask (James 4:2). Today is the day for that to change. Tell Him all about it, and may the Lord grant your request in the name of Jesus Christ.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, You know my heart's desire. Your word tells us to delight in You and that You will give us the desires of our hearts. I humbly pray that you grant my request. In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen!

On Scott Riegelmann - I was able to get an update from Cristy Herzberg, who lives near him. Scott is in hospice and on morphine for the extreme pain he has been in. The hospice nurse said she did not think he had long left. Please lift up him up for a peaceful transition and comfort for his sons and loved ones π

Prayers for my brother in Christ, Scott, be lifted to heaven. Father, if it is time for Scott to go home, please take away his pain, give him comfort and let him feel Your presence with the beautiful peace only You can give. I know Scott's transition will be beautiful. Just let Him feel Your unconditional love. Please bring comfort to Scott's sons, loved ones and all of us that love him so. Thank you Lord. Amen. π
