Shake it Off

He said to them, "Wherever you enter into a house, stay there until you depart from there. Whoever will not receive you nor hear you, as you depart from there, shake off the dust that is under your feet for a testimony against them. Assuredly, I tell you, it will be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city!" Mark 6:10–11 WEB.
When Jesus sent the disciples out to preach the good news, they often faced rejection. Jesus told them to shake it off and go to the next town. There would be other people who would be glad to see them, waiting for them to arrive. The disciples were to try and share the good news but never force themselves on those who didn't want to hear it. When they encountered people like that, they were to shake it off and move on.
God created you to be who you are. But the devil will always find someone who doesn't like you, what you are doing, what you stand for, or maybe someone who is just jealous. Then he will put them near you, so you can hear all the negative things they have to say. If you do anything of value, there will always be someone to oppose it.
Here at Refreshing Hope, we have had people write to say they were praying for us to burn in hell because we wrote, "Thank you for your support" at the bottom of our devotional.
Shake it off, move on. People who would love to be around you are just around the corner. Of course, you should behave correctly. But don't waste time worrying about what someone else thinks of you. God loves you today. What can man do to change that? Don't let someone else discourage you and hold you back from what God has in store for you.
Never be ashamed to share your faith boldly when given an opportunity. But if they don't want to hear from you, shake it off, change the subject, and don't force the gospel on them. When they talk about you and put you down, shake it off and move on. Others will welcome the good news.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, please speak to me and through me today. Put Your words in my heart and show me who to share them with. Turn me into good salt and a bright light. Please help me to shake off the bad and focus on the good. In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen!

This is the situation I have been dealing with at work and sometimes at home. At first I was hurt by it and the more I thought about it I got angry, Because my own Brother that I live with was talking against me I could hear him at home. Also some people at my job. AS soon as I got approved for this low income housing offer, Everything went haywire. My boyfriend has been helping me a lot lately, He said that he wants to make me happy. I thank God for that. The Enemy has literally been Riding me for weeks. It is that old saying If you allow the Devil to ride eventually he will want to drive. I was so happy to move But some people were jealous and to see that hurt. But I had to pray and move on. My brother had to leave his job over a year ago for health problems. So sometimes outside of rent payments he would ask to borrow money and have no way to pay it back. A few bucks for gas or cigarettes through out the month. I gave it to him and move on. I witness a lot these past few weeks. I pray about it and request prayer through the ministry. That help a great deal. Things are getting better slowly but surely so I Thank God for that and to know that I don't have to do it alone.

Thanking the Lord that I was able to attend today's service, and I'm filled up and strengthened to go on for another week!!! Lord I humbly put all of my burdens and prayer requests before Thee knowing that all things are possible with You!!!

Amen and Amen!!! They older I get, they bolder I get, and all I can say, it is GOD, the Lord within me, who gives me the boldness to speak, and so often puts me where He wants me to be!!! I do have a hard time though to shake it off especially when talking to my siblings, when I can tell that they don't want to hear, thinking of the rich man who asked Abraham to send Lazarus to his family, to his 5 brothers . . . in Luke 16:24-27!! And there will come a time when it is too late, but I'm clinging to the Lord's promises, and that when we ask and pray according to His will, that He will answer!!!

I can relate, and I just said a special prayer for you. I am confident that your situation will improve. Mine did! My uncle never paid back the money he owed me, I am now estranged from my former family, awaiting the birth of twin grand babies. Never forget that the devil has already been conquered! Lord, I lift up Madalyn and pray that you bring her peace, strength and guidance to move to her own home, that you protect her from errors, from the attacks of the enemy and those who would use her. Please help her to hear Your voice and guide her every step, in the name of Jesus, amen 🙏!

Yep the enemy is losing his grip PTL! God is prying the devil's fingers off of you one finger at a time and soon the devil will slip back into the shadows. Like the Chris Tomlin song says "Don't stop praying", keep on moving forward believing and seeking Jesus, acknowledge Him and give Him praise in everything you do and He will make your paths straight.
