He who searches the hearts knows what is on the Spirit's mind, because he makes intercession for the saints according to God. We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, for those who are called according to his purpose. Romans 8:27-28 WEB.
It was time to get a better internet package for the ministry. So we went to the service provider's office, signed in, and sat down. We waited quite a while, but no one called us. I watched the clock while they helped the next person. Even though we had signed in before them, they were being waited on before us. It was annoying to be skipped over while we waited for them to help us.
After this had happened a couple of times, I was ready to do some professional-level whining and complaining. When I went back up to the service desk, I found they had scratched our name off, skipped over us, and continued down the sign-in sheet. I felt cheated.
Eventually, a woman from upper management came down to help them catch up with the queue. She called us in next and waited on us personally. I was surprised because it was someone I had gone to school with. We had been friends long ago.
Someone else had told us that the highest speed business package would cost us around $300 a month, so we planned to get something more in the middle. However, my friend helping us said they were allowed to give a ministry the residential rate of $99 for the top tier. So we would still have the same speed, service, and benefits as the highest-tier business package but spend one-third of the money.
They saved us from making a mistake and gave us a much better internet package. We also saved money, for it was much less than we would have had to pay. It couldn't have worked out better, but we did have to wait for it.
Have you ever been inconvenienced only to find out it worked out for the best? Some people met their spouses while waiting in a slow checkout line at the grocery store. Had they not been stuck waiting in line, they would have walked past each other.
The delays, setbacks, and disappointments you face will work out for your good. The things that look bad, scary, and you are nervous about will work out for the best in the end. When God makes you wait, It's for a good reason. He always has something better in store.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I thank You for this beautiful day. I am so grateful to be here, right where I am. I know that You have good plans for me. I choose to delight in You today. I understand that the bad things are going to work out for good. In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen!
