He said to him, "O Lord, how shall I save Israel? Behold, my family is the poorest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father's house." Yahweh said to him, "Surely I will be with you, and you shall strike the Midianites as one man." Judges 6:15-16 WEB.
Gideon was the least in his family, who happened to be the poorest clan in the tribe of Manasseh. Then God chose him to lead a group of three hundred men and defeat a vast Midianite army, whose camels could not even be counted.
Gideon was scared and hopelessly outnumbered. Outside of God, he had nothing going for him. No one else thought so, either. Even his hometown wanted to kill him for destroying baal's altar. Gideon was the least of the least. Yet, with God on his side, he was more than enough. He was given supernatural wisdom to perform a God-given task.
When the battle started, the enemies became confused and started killing each other. They all turned and ran while Israel attacked them from behind. The Midianites were utterly defeated. After the battle, there were forty years of peace. Gideon, with the help of God, made it happen. God likes to show His power strong in the weak and humble.
Moses was the most humble man on Earth during his life (Numbers 12:3), and David was the least of his family (1 Samuel 16:11). Even Jesus of Nazareth was born in a stable (Luke 2:7). Yet, they became world changers.
As a child, I was the youngest of thirteen children. I was not considered one of them, for I was a step-child from a previous marriage. If that wasn't confusing enough, my mom told me that I probably wasn't "his" either. Yet, God has taught me over the years that it's not who you are born as but who you live for that matters. If you surrender your life to Him, you will find your real purpose for being here.
God can fix everything, and even if all you have to depend on is Him, He is more than enough. He has taken me from sweeping the floor to being the manager in a few months. There have been times when I was out of work and flat broke, and I would open my Bible and find that someone had secretly put money in it. I have seen the sick and hurting be instantly healed. I have watched Him take life-crushing situations and turn them around for our good. Things that would make you pinch yourself to see if you are really awake.
Today, you may be the least of the family and feel the weakest. But God can make a hero out of a zero. If you follow His leading, nothing or no one can hold you back, for He is more than enough. So we can confidently say, "The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?" (Hebrews 13:5).
Prayer: Heavenly Father, my life is Yours. Please lead me into all You have for me to do on Earth. Provide for me in the desert and lead me out the other side. I choose to put my trust in You. In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen!

Amen! How awesome and great God is, of what He is able and willing to change and deliver us through in our lives when we follow His ways. These true stories in the Bible, our foundational life tool, read over and over again today, surely reveal to us, how God is never changing, ever Almighty and just! Dear God please lead me, I place my trust in You! I pray this in name of Jesus Christ, Amen!
AMEN and AMEN!!! Thinking about Gideon and what he said: "Oh, how shall I save Israel", and the question remains today concerning Jerusalem and Israel!!! And, as we are encouraged to pray for the peace of Jerusalem and Israel, the foremost prayer for them should be that they would come to faith and recognize Jesus as the Messiah! 🙏
